The Crab Statue is a statue that releases Crabs when activated by a Trigger via Wire. Only three statue-spawned crabs may be alive at any one time. On death, the crabs will occasionally drop hearts or mana stars. The Crab Statue is often used to build Crab Engines, a superior alternative to the 1 Second Timer.

Crab EnginesEdit

Crab engines are mechanisms that may be built with one or more crab statues. Crabs, by nature, jump at a rapid pace. If they are left in a confined space with a pressure plate to jump on, they will press the switch at a rate about 50% faster than a 1 second timer. This setup is useful for farms and other mechanisms with a cooldown of less than one second.

The activation rate is about six times faster than the one second timer. This was tested by comparing the activation speed of Torches. (unconfirmed)
