The Phantasm is a craftable Bow can be obtained after defeating the Vortex Pillar.

The bow auto-fires 4 arrows at once, without a pattern and innacurately like the Chlorophyte Shotbow (although the Shotbow only shoots 2-4 not 4 exactly) giving it sizable DPS. In addition, when focusing on one opponent, the bow fires a continuous stream of homming (only on a single target, see GIF file) arrows in between attacks, rewarding players that land multiple attacks in a row.

This bow can achieve well over 4,000 DPS on a single target, making the Phantasm the highest DPS bow currently in-game. The Phantasm's best Modifier is Unreal.

Tips

• If used against the Celestial Towers during the Lunar Event, the bow can destroy a single pillar within a matter of 2 to 3 seconds.
• Using Ichor Arrows reduces the armor of enemies you hit, increasing the damage from the 3 extra shots as well as the stream of arrows from the Phantasm passive, increasing damage output significantly.
• The bow starts off slow and gains more attack speed when the attack button is held down.

Trivia

• The Phantasm's downside is that if there are multiple mobs that cannot last against more than 2 volleys, you are unable to use its passive to its full potential. The Vortex Beater's area control trumps the Phantasm in this regard.
• At Patch 1.3.0.2 you were technically able to recover 2 wooden arrows by shooting one, due to the 4 arrows fired by Phantasm at once and the 50% chance of recovery of a wooden arrow.
• Coupling this with Holy Arrows, (and Vortex armor,) one can defeat Duke Fishron within 8 to 10 seconds.
• If you get the stoned debuff while attacking you can still shoot the bow.
