The Last Prism is a Magic weapon that has a 11.11% of dropping from the Moon Lord.

Often considered the most powerful obtainable weapon, it deals a massive amount of damage, but also consumes mana incredibly fast. When used, 6 beams that deal individual damage begin to rotate out of the prism's tip and get closer together, spinning faster as the beam charges, with this process taking approximately 4 seconds, each beam deals the full listed damage of the weapon, which means that you have to multiply the damage you see by six to get the damage per tick, and the weapon ticks (before buffs) approximately 6.66 times per second. This means without crits or damage amplification this weapon does 600 damage per hit when fully charged, and the weapon hits 6.66 times per second, making the base DPS 3600 on a single target. The same amount of damage can be dealt when the beam is not fully charged, but the damage will be dispersed over a large area, making it ideal for fighting large bosses. However, due to the high mana cost (12 mana 6 times per second when fully charged is 72 mana per second) players will struggle to maintain the beam for more than 5-6 seconds. A Mana Flower, Nebula armor and a healthy supply of Super Mana Potions are all recommended for continuous use of this weapon. Although Super Mana Potions are the only effective way to continuously shoot the beam, they do substantially reduce your damage with the mana potion debuff. Using the Celestial Cuffs can substantially reduce your mana usage in some situations, allowing for much higher sustained damage.

The beam does not pass through blocks but can pass through platforms.

Because the weapon has no knockback, it is unable to acquire the Mythical modifier. Therefore, the best modifier is Demonic or Mystic.

Notes

  • If the player has the life steal set bonus from the Spectre Hood, the beams from the Last Prism will not consistently contribute to the life steal.
  • The Last Prism has approximately 11k burst DPS against a single target, where as the S.D.M.G. has only approximately 8k dps in the best case, making the Last Prism the highest damage weapon in the game short term. Over a long period the S.D.M.G and Last Prism both average about 7-8k with all possible buffs and best possible gear+reforge. However, the Prism Pulls ahead against numerous enemies.
  • By lining up test dummies the Last Prism is capable of reaching approximately 700,000 DPS. Giving it the theoretical highest damage in the game if you could line enough enemies up for it.

Trivia

  • The Last Prism's charge up and firing animation very closely match the description for Marisa Kirisame's Spellcard "Love Sign: Master Spark", right down to the scintillation of colours.
  • It is also possible that the Last Prism is a reference to Gandalf the white riding out and smiting the Nazgul with a beam of light.
  • The Last Prism's charge up, firing animation and name seems to hold relation with Kamen Rider W (Double) and his CycloneJokerXtreme finisher "Prism Break: Final Illsion" as seen in Kamen Rider Climax Heroes.
  • The Last Prism's tooltip may be a reference to the character Vel'Koz from popular game League of Legends, whose ultimate ability is called "Lifeform Disintegration Ray".
  • This is might alternatively be a reference to the character Lux, from popular game League of Legends, whose ultimate ability looks very similar to the Last Prism's attack.
  • It could be possible that the rainbow effect is a reference to the Rainbow road map from Mario Cart, or the popular character Kerby.
