Detonators are activation Mechanisms that can be found underground as part of Traps, wired to Explosives. Detonators act as switches, sending activation pulses to other mechanisms connected to it through Wire. Detonators are tripped either by right-clicking or when a player falls on the plunger, similar to a Pressure Plate.

In their capacity as traps, they replace Pressure Plates in activating explosive traps underground, causing a wide-area explosion capable of dealing severe, usually lethal damage to players when tripped. Like all traps, their red wires may intersect other naturally-generated devices, causing multiple hazards in rapid succession.

Trivia

• The sprite of the Detonator is based on the image of an iconic dynamite plunger.
