The Petri Dish summons a Pet Slime when used, which deals no damage. It grants the Pet Slime buff that lasts until the player manually cancels it by pressing A or X on the buff's icon in the armor section of the inventory screen, or dies.

It can be obtained from Golden Chests. In the Mobile and Console (corrected by Joelastley) version, it is also dropped by Corrupt Slimess and Slimelings

Notes

• The slime will fly, pass through walls, and teleport to keep up with the player.

• The slime will slide along the ground, unlike the normal Slime.

• The pet slime is seemingly illuminous in appearance, yet does not emit any light.

• The color of the slime depends on the color of the Petri Dish but on mobile it is always light blue.
