This article is a Not to be confused with the Moth.
Mothron is a rare enemy from the Solar Eclipse event. It can only spawn after all Mechanical Bosses are defeated. Mothron will attack by lunging at the player, passing through tiles. Occasionally it will stop flying and lay several Mothron Eggs that will spawn Baby Mothrons if they are not destroyed in time.
Notes
- It has the ability to go through blocks and fly.
- Mothron makes it much harder to design an AFK farm for the Solar Eclipse as it takes no knockback and goes through blocks.
- Broken Hero Sword and The Eye of Cthulhu item drops are mutually exclusive, i.e. there is 25% chance for either item and 50% chance for none of them.
- If the Eclipse finished, or all players die, Mothron floats up to the sky and despawns, similar to the Eye of Cthulhu.
Trivia
- Mothron is a reference to Mothra from the namesake 1961 movie.[1] The subtle change in its name follows the trend of Terraria enemies' and bosses' names ending with the suffix -ron, such as Skeletron, Duke Fishron, and Pigron.
