Attacks

Golem's main body cannot move through blocks, but its fist and laser attacks can. Its stone head can also travel through blocks once it detaches in the second stage.

First stage

The Golem will shoot ricocheting fireballs, attack with its fists that extend from chains, and jump around. These increase in frequency as each part takes more damage: When the fists are damaged, they will attack more often; when the head is damaged, the Golem jumps and shoots more often. Golem's fists can travel through blocks, but have limited range, and will also retract immediately upon being hit with any weapon.

  • When the head falls below half health (8000), all previous attacks continue, but the head will begin to fire lasers that can travel through blocks. It fires more rapidly as it takes more damage.

Second stage

When the head has taken full damage, the fist and laser attacks stop, and its stone head detaches to reveal its "true" mechanical head. The stone head flies around with increased speed, becoming invulnerable to attacks, and traveling through blocks. The true head then becomes available to target, with 9,000 health, and must be attacked to defeat Golem.

  • When the true head falls below half health (4500),the flying stone head will again begin firing lasers that travel through blocks while flying around. It fires more rapidly as it takes more damage.

Notes

  • The Golem can only be summoned in a world where Plantera has been defeated. Attempting to summon it in a world where Plantera has not yet been defeated will fail, and a Lihzahrd Power Cell will not be consumed from your inventory.
  • In order to use a Lihzahrd Power Cell on PC, you must right-click the altar. Holding a Power Cell and left-clicking will do nothing.
  • Like most bosses, Golem will despawn if the player travels too far away, including traveling back through the Lihzard Temple.
  • The Golem's Fist attack will only fire at you when you are in the middle or to the same side as the fist. So the left fist will only attack if you are on the left, and the right fist will only attack if you are on the right, and both will attack if you are in the middle.

Tips

  • When summoned, the Golem will spawn above the Lihzahrd Altar and fall. With preparation, you can create a box around where you know it will spawn, immobilizing it. However, you still must be wary of lasers and fist attacks.
  • While exploring the Lihzahrd Temple, you can gather all the traps. Construct a frame of blocks around the Altar for Golem to become trapped in, and set the traps inside the frame. Run back and forth along the top of the frame, activating the traps. Teleporters with Pressure Plate triggers, on each end of the frame top, will allow you to run continuously, making dodging the lasers relatively easy. Pressure Plates between the Teleporters will allow continuous activation of the traps as you run, or a Timer can be used. Small spaces can be left in the frame to allow your entry and exit, without being big enough for Golem to get out.
  • Attacking incessantly with the Vampire Knives from close range while wearing Turtle Armor, accessories with the Warding prefix, and the Cross Necklace, will usually regenerate the players health faster than the Golem can damage.
  • If you have already beaten the Golem, the Stynger is an extremely effective ranged weapon, even after the explosive damage bug was fixed in 1.2.4.
  • To easily kill Golem with poor equipment, you can just buy 1 Bunny Cannon from the Pirate that spawns after killing the Pirate Invasion and make about 100 Explosive Bunnies using Dynamite and Bunnies farmed manually or from a Bunny Statue. Then go down the Lihzahrd Temple and place the Bunny Cannon down; point it at about a 90 degree angle facing the spawn area of Golem, then spawn him and spam the cannon. You should kill him in no more than 2 minutes.
  • If you have already beaten the Golem, you can use the Picksaw to pick up the Lihzahrd Altar and move it to a more suitable arena.
  • If you have already beaten the pirate invasion, using the coin gun with the prefix rapid and also using gold and platinum coins for ammo while wearing shroomite armor will result 15 to 30 second defeat.
  • If you put him in a box and have one open space to get in you can use the piranha gun to latch on and do consistent damage.
  • one thing many people dont know.♦USE A COPPER SWORD♦ its a major weakness

Trivia

  • A "golem" was originally a being from Jewish folklore, created from mud or clay and brought to life through rituals in order to defend townspeople from attacks. The theme persists in stories and video games today.
