The Keybrand is a Hardmode, post-Plantera sword. It has a 1/300 (0.33%) chance of being dropped by Blue Armored Bones, Hell Armored Bones, and Rusty Armored Bones in the Dungeon after Plantera is defeated.

Like most swords, its best modifier is Legendary.

Notes

• The Keybrand now does autoswing.
• The Keybrand has a base critical strike chance of 17% in the PC version, as opposed to the usual 4%.
• The keybrand may drop with the Red Quality instead of yellow. After relogging your world it will turn Yellow.

Trivia

• This weapon is based on the Keyblade, a weapon used by Sora in the Kingdom Hearts series. It resembles the Kingdom Key Keyblade that is obtained at the beginning of almost every Kingdom Hearts game.
• This item is named the "Lockblade" in Terraria's source code.

History

• 1.3.0.1: Damage increased from 55 to 70, knockback from 6 to 6.5, critical strike chance from 4% to 17% and use time decreased from 21 to 19.
