So I was trying to move my NPC's into another part of my house about a week or 2 ago and i summoned eye of cthulu to kill them off. while they were dead i removed the sources of light from there rooms so they would spawn elsewhere. there are dozens of other available rooms for them to move into that meet specifications but they still wont respawn. As of now, i have the merchant and demolitionist but nobody else. not even the guide. did I herp and derp or is something glitchy?

Yeah seems you've hit a glitch, the guide should always spawn first even if you have other NPCs waiting to come. You will probably have to start a new world. Gracey91 09:12, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

I really hope i dont have to start a new world... i put so many hours of work into building the house on this world. it literally stretches from the surface of the world to the top of the map. I'd really like to not have to restart it

well i found the problem. turns out there was a goblin army still alive somewhere on my map
