The Goblin Sorcerer is a mage from the Goblin Army event. They attack with mid-range powerful projectiles spells called Chaos Ball that can go through blocks, such as the ground or walls in a similar way to Fire Imps' fire balls. They fire these projectiles 3 times if you do not interrupt them by causing damage to them, after doing so they will pause and then teleport to a random location nearby.They have 40 health, 20 attack damage with both their spell and melee, and 2 defense. Their defense is very low, however, their attack is moderately strong. The Chaos Ball can not be destroyed by bullets, but magical and melee attacks will destroy them. On the Nintendo version when a chaos ball is destroyed it displays blood particles.
Since they spawn during a goblin invasion, care must be taken when fighting them, as they can be protected by the Goblin Warriors, Peon or even Thieves. They Spawn the least out of the entire army, mostly because of their mage status.
A useful tactic to avoid their deadly rays is to hit the beam in mid-flight with most weapons, long ranged or melee, such as a Sword or an Enchanted Boomerang. Any direct hit from a Vilethorn will kill a Sorcerer as well as blocking its shots.
