Holy Arrow (demo)

Holy Arrows in use.

Holy Arrows are a type of arrow available once Hardmode is entered, and can be crafted from materials dropped by enemies in the surface Hallow. While lacking in direct brute power, they summon two falling stars to the point of impact.

Notes[]

  • The first star is spawned once the arrow projectile is destroyed, either by hitting a solid block or an enemy. It will fall at a random angle from the top of the screen to the location where the arrow was destroyed, passing through all blocks. Once it reaches that location, terrain penetration is deactivated and it will be destroyed upon hitting a block or 1 / 2 enemies . Afterward, the second star will be spawned. Its target location is where the first star was destroyed.[1]
    • Note that if the arrow is not properly destroyed, e.g. because it leaves the screen and despawns, the stars will not be spawned. Similarly, the second star will not be spawned if the first star is not properly destroyed.
  • The stars deal a third of the base damage as the arrow (the base damage of the arrow being the combined damage of the Holy Arrow, 13, and the weapon used).

Tips[]

  • The falling star effect makes Holy Arrows exceptionally effective against bosses and other large enemies, most prominently The Destroyer. The Daedalus Stormbow proves to be exceptional in this case.
  • They prove to be especially powerful with bows that shoot multiple arrows, such as the Daedalus Stormbow or Tsunami, as each arrow that hits will summon a pair of stars.
  • Holy Arrows remain useful even after defeating Plantera and Golem – they are an excellent option for killing the Martian Saucer, even in Expert Mode.

Advantages[]

Some advantages the Holy Arrow has over other arrows:
