The Cell Phone Template:Pc icon, like other notable compound items Ankh Shield and Terra Blade, is an extremely powerful and helpful item to have on hand. Like a real life cell phone, it can tell you the weather, the time, where you are, and can count numbers, but you can't play cool video games on it. Its usefulness however comes with a cost; it takes a lot - A LOT - of work to create. This page will guide you on how to create this amazing item.
Items needed
The Mirror
The Magic Mirror is an extremely easy item to obtain, as it only really requires finding an underground chest. Snow dwellers may opt for the functionally identical, and also usable, Ice Mirror instead, found in icy chests.
GPS Components
Watch
There are six varieties of Watches, but you will need one of the two highest-quality varieties, which display to the nearest minute (a real-life second).
To craft, you will need 40 Gold/Platinum Ore (one or the other, do not mix) blocks and 3 Iron/Lead Ore blocks. Craft all of these into their respective ingots, and turn the iron/lead into chains. Now assemble a Gold or Platinum Watch with a table and chair.
Compass
The Compass can be obtained from the death of multiple monsters, including Mother Slimes, Piranhas, Snow Flinxs, Undead and Armored Vikings, and Mimics.
Depth Meter
The Depth Meter is rarely dropped by Cave Bats.
The Watch, Compass and Depth Meter are combined to create a GPS.
Fish Finder
Fish Finder
The Fisherman's Pocket Guide, Weather Radio and Sextant are all obtained from the Angler and are combined to make Fish Finder. They are randomly acquired upon completion of a quest.
R.E.K. 3000 Components
Tally Counter
A Tally Counter can be found held by one of the creatures of the Dungeon. Kill it to recieve this item.
Radar
Possibly the easiest item to obtain, the Radar can be found in surface chests.
Lifeform Analyzer
Lifeform Analyzer can be bought from the Travelling Merchant.
Combine the Radar, Lifeform Analyzer and Tally Counter to make a R.E.K. 3000.
Goblin Tech Components
Stopwatch and DPS Meter
Both sold by the Travelling Merchant. This may require a little bit of patience, for sometimes the Merchant may only carry one or the other at a visit.
Metal Detector
The Metal Detector is arguably the hardest item to obtain; it is only dropped by the extremely rare Nymph.
Combine these three items to obtain a Goblin Tech.
PDA
Combine the GPS, Fish Finder, R.E.K. 3000 and Goblin Tech at a Tinkerer's Workshop to form a PDA, which is combined with the Magic Mirror or Ice Mirror to make the Cell Phone.
Farming
To obtain these items, you may need to farm them. For example, a certain underground farm, possibly near the dungeon, could be used to farm some items. Battle Potions and Water Candles may be helpful with increasing spawn rates. This section is a work in progress.
GPS
- Watch - Does not need farmed.
- Compass - Piranha Statues work well.
- Depth Meter - Bat Statues work well.
Fish Finder
- Do fish quests every day, they reset at 4:30 a.m.
R.E.K 3000
- Tally Counter - Make a long tunnel in the dungeon. Use Battle Potions and Water Candles to increase spawns. Run end to end until you get the Tally Counter
- Radar - If no surface chests are found with this, you can find it in Wooden Crates. Use Fishing Potions, Crate Potions, and Sonar Potions to increase your chances. Also, fish in forest ponds to reduce chances of Biome Crates spawning.
- Lifeform Analyzer - Use an Enchanted Sundial if you have one. Also, always make sure to have extra money around.
Goblin Tech
- Stopwatch - Use an Enchanted Sundial if you have one. Also, always make sure to have extra money around.
- DPS Meter - Use an Enchanted Sundial if you have one. Also, always make sure to have extra money around.
- Metal Detector - Create a long tunnel in a Hardmode Underground Snow biome. Use Water Candles and Battle Potions to increase spawns. Run from end to end of the tunnel until a Lost Girl/Nymph spawns.
