Slimer appears to be a purple orb with wings, and will hover sluggishly around the player's head in a fashion similar to that of a Vulture. It is relatively weak, having only 60 Health in its flight form. It will drop its wings when 'killed' initially, becoming an ordinary slime in terms of habits, but will still be called a Slimer.
Once a Slimer is wingless, it will start out with a new health pool of 90, and behave like any other slime, including the usual drops of Gel and coins.
When the Slimer has its wings, the slime is in a perfect circle even though it doesn't have any sort of casing.
Trivia
Edit
- The name Slimer was given to the flying globular green ghost in the Ghostbuster movies, and the various subsequent cartoon series. The name may be a reference to this ghost, as in the movies the character Peter Venkman (played by Bill Murray) states after being ran over by Slimer “He slimed me!” and is covered in a slimy gel much like the gel that slimes in the game drop. Since the ghost is mostly an annoyance in the movies, much as slimes are in the game, it indicates another potential nod to the franchise.
- Its wings look exactly like the Demon Wings, although it does not drop them on death.
- Slimers can go into water when they have their wings, while they cannot do so after losing them.
