    Request to be added[]

    Hello. I am a long time player of Terraria Desktop, and I have much experience with it. I would love to be added as an editor so I can help update the wiki with new and changed items and features from the 1.4 update. I have already been working on updating the upcoming features with new information, and I would be glad to continue to quickly bring out accurate update information. Request to be added[]

    Hi, I'd like to be added to the editors list. I've been helping around the wiki recently creating item pages, copyediting, and reporting vandalism. I play Desktop and have basic familiarity with the source code, so I can pull up information about item functionality, vendor sales, etc without too much trouble. On the wikicode side, I've learned how to use a good number of the standard templates+infoboxes and I'm hoping to pick up more through practice. You can check my contributions page to see where I've helped out, or contact me in the Discord under the same username. Cheers! Breathlessblizzard (talk) 22:38, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

    I've added you. Thank you so much for your help :) – Ferretwings (talk) 23:06, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

    Request to be added[]

    Hello! I'd like to be added to the editors list. I mostly play mobile, but can readily test pretty much anything on the Console version (latest version, Xbox One), and will sometimes be able to test some Desktop things. I'll hopefully be able to be editing a lot more actively, and am currently working to achieve consistency, especially with the flood of 1.4 articles. Thanks for your consideration! —ϟAwesome_Diamondsϟtalk 17:57, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

    Request to be added[]

    Hi! I'd like to be added to the editor's list. I have (what I'd like to think) an extensive knowledge of most Terraria Desktop version mechanics, as well as features and content. I've joined pretty recently in order to help with 1.4 content additions, and I helped to start adding happiness quotes for the happiness quotes project to most NPCs, as well as preparing to start the DPS project (to find the average DPS of weapons). Thank you for reading, no hard feelings if I don't make it. DanZeMan (talk) 12:49, 3 June 2020 (UTC)

    Request to be added[]

    Hello, my name is Trialsphere, I am constant player of the game and have over 340 hours on Nintendo Switch. I know the game mechanics well, tend to recognize glitches fairly quickly when they pop up, and know most of the tips or tricks a player might need. I would love to be added as an editor so I can help add information that might have been missed on pages and help the terraria community as much as I can. I thank you for your time and consideration. Added you to the list. --Eraloiz (talk) 09:49, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

    Summon Weapon Modifer Advice is Duplicated on Every Summon Weapon Page[]

    I notice they are all a little different, but suspect they should almost all be identical:

    Sanguine Staff:

    Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stat bonuses, but these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, minions cannot deal critical hits. The only lasting advantage a Mythical Sanguine Staff has over a Ruthless one is knockback.

    Abigail's Flower:

    Its best modifiers are either Mythical, Furious, or Godly in Pre-Hardmode. Due to its low base damage, all damage-improving modifiers of +10% or greater improve its damage by the same amount. The Ruthless modifier has no lasting advantage over the others mentioned, as it deals less knockback.

    Spider Staff:

    Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stat bonuses, but these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, minions cannot deal critical hits. The only lasting advantage a Mythical Spider Staff has over a Ruthless one is knockback.

    Interestingly, the Ruthless modifier on the spider staff grants it +19% damage, rather than +18% damage.

    I expect many of these weapons benefit from identical modifiers and think it would be good to have a single, clear, comprehensive statement in the Summon Weapons: Minions: Modifiers article, then in each of these weapons, say, "See the note on Minion Summon Weapon Modifiers<link>". If any weapon behaves differently, the page could add "with the following differences."

    Hello. Thank you for your note, but I do not think it is necessary. All pages about items that can be reforged have the note about best modifier (which is added via {{modifier}} template). In the case if we decide to replace this note on with the link on the main article, it would be: 1) inconsistent (all reforgable items have this information on their pages but not the summoner's weapons); 2) inconvenient (best modifier is very important information about a weapon, regular users do not want to spend their time opening new links to learn basic stuff). If a user wants to read more about reforging in Terraria they can always read this article.
    P.S.: please, next time do not forget to sign your message by adding ~~~~ to the end of the last sentence. latest?cb=20230204123035&path-prefix=ru BotAntony (not a bot actually) (talk page | contributions) 17:36, 22 January 2024 (UTC)

    Monk's Belt, Huntress's Buckler, Apprentice's Scarf, and Squire's Shield are the same item with different skins[]

    I love the Class Setup Guide, but noticed that the Monk's Belt was left out of the Pre-Plantera Summoning Accessories, so I added it. Then I fought the Old One's Army again and got the Huntress's Buckler. I added it to the page before realizing that it's functionally the same item. I started updating the Monk's Belt and Huntress's Buckler before realizing that there are 4 identical items with different skins: Monk's Belt, Huntress's Buckler, Apprentice's Scarf, and Squire's Shield. Their bonuses don't stack with each other. I don't want to make slightly different updates in 4 places. Can we somehow pick one and make the other 3 pages redirect to it? In the infobox, can we have tabs that show the 4 different skins? Then I could make updates in one place, and link to just the one article in places that should link to it:

    • Pygmy Necklace should list it as an upgrade.
    • Summoner Emblem should include it in See Also (slightly less damage, but +1 minion).
    • Guide: Class Setups: Pre-Plantera should link to just one article (I picked Monk's Belt for now).

    I'm happy to do the work, but would like the blessing of an Admin before I start. It would be great if you can point me to another article with an infobox showing various skins, so I could copy the syntax. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Uncrushed (talkcontribs) at 17:15, 22 January 2024

    Hi, sorry for replying too late (I did not notice your second message). Yes, it is possible to create note on one page and then transclude it to other pages. To do this, you can use {{transclude}} and <section> tag. F.e.:
    Content on a page A:
    Main text, blah, blah, blah

    <section begin=info>
    Important info
    <section end=info>

    Other text

    Content on a page B:
    Main text, blah, blah, blah

    {{transclude|Page A|section=info}}

    Other text

    You can do whatever you want with guide pages, I can always review it later and fix formatting mistakes. —latest?cb=20230204123035&path-prefix=ru BotAntony (not a bot actually) (talk page | contributions) 03:04, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
