Yoraiz0r has just recently released an immense spoiler, enjoy!
(Props to whoever reads all of this; it's quite a lot of spoilers! :P)
"All of us on the Terraria development team hope and trust that each of you had a pleasant a restful holiday season. While we took some time to spend with friends and family as well, we have also been hard at work on the 1.3 update. It is our desire that 1.3 live up to everyone's expectations and leave an epic, lasting impact on the game.
It's been a while since we shared some substantial spoilers - so to make up for that gap, you will find a larger-than-usual list of stuff from 1.3 to whet your appetite. Hope you enjoy them!
One of our areas of focus with Terraria 1.3 is an interface upgrade. Clearly, this is a core part of the game experience with which players will constantly interact - so we have taken great care to make the interface more clear, pleasing to the eye, and to enhance it's level of interactivity. Below are a few examples of these efforts:
We have upgraded how icons appear/work: things in your inventory will now have their edges lighten up once the cursor is over them.
In addition, a lot of buttons such as reforging, opening the crafting grid, PVP, and teams got a visual update -we even added a 5th pink team!
We also noted that a lot of in-game text is currently hard to read due to how it blends in with the backgrounds - so we've gone on a bordering spree and are making sure everything has the right amount of clarity and contrast to it is easier to to view and read (even item stack amounts).
(Please Note: This is a work in process and may not reflect the final version.)
On the interactivity end of the spectrum, we have made great strides. In an earlier spoiler Cenx showed everyone you can now link items in chat - but that is merely the beginning of the changes we have made!
Items in your inventory can now be "favorited". When you "favorite" an item, you will not be able to accidentally throw, trash sell or stack it into a chest!
To further help streamline inventory management, you can now quick stack items to all nearby chests. This feature will place items in chests that already have stacks started for certain items. (If you do not have a stack started you will need to manually open the chests.)
We also realized that shopping in Terraria could be improved. With 1.3, when paying for goods from NPCs, you can now see the money contained in your piggy bank or safe, and use your savings to pay! (no more running back and forth from your bank)
We even upgraded crafting to take advantage of these improvements - you will be able to craft from an open chest (including the piggy bank and safe)! To further enhance this feature, chests now show as open when they're in use, so you can tell which is which.
We have also added a new method for taking screen shots within the game. When you enable our new Screen Capture mode, you will be able to take larger scale pictures of your worlds and builds rather than using the old method of taking many smaller pictures and piecing them together!
(Thank you to all of our amazing testers involved in this build!)
Further additions include the map marking the last spot where you've died and being able to see text inside signs when you hover your cursor over them from a distance...plus a few other details that I'll leave hidden for now."
Any thoughts? See anything else besides the main spoilers? Feel free to comment below with your thoughts!

Creation/Pixel art of the Week

Exclusive interview with a member of this Wiki
This week I got the exciting chance to interview a well known member of the wiki, The Pathogen! That said, this interview is quite awesome, so I hope you all enjoy it. ^u^
TerrariamcSwaggins: Heyyy! Ready to do that interview?
The Pathogen: Yup! :D
TerrariamcSwaggins: Awesome! First question, what is your favorite boss in the game and why?
The Pathogen: Hmm, looking at it objectively I'd have to say The Destroyer, though that is mainly due to the ease with which it can be defeated (despite its massive reserve of health). In regards to the boss itself however, I have been very fond of Plantera since its release, so I'd say that's my favorite overall.
TerrariamcSwaggins: Ahhh, yes, Plantera is quite popular among the Terrarians; it's one of my favorite bosses, also. Next question, about how long have you played for?
The Pathogen: I'd have to say I'm unsure on that one, my previous steam account was lost into the abyss at some stage a couple of years ago, and with it I lost a good many weeks of recorded playtime. My current recorded amount is a measly 143 hours :(
TerrariamcSwaggins: Agh, that's a real shame. Silly Steam. :c Next question, what is your favorite 1.3 spoiler as of now?
The Pathogen: Looking at what I'm aware of, I'm super-hyped for the animated dyes! I realise that many players will likely see this as a minor addition (or an unimportant one), but I think it'll be a great way to implement a larger variety of possible avatars. ^_^
TerrariamcSwaggins: Indeed! I'm quite pumped for that addition, also. As I've said before, I love all the little details added into the game; it makes it so unique. Final question, what class and weapons do you use in the game?
The Pathogen: I like to alternate between a full-dps mage build using the Razorblade Typhoon and Specter Armor, and a high-defense, mid-high-dps tank using Beetle Armor and a combination of the Vampire Knives with the Flairon. Looking at accessories, I like to change it up depending on what exactly I'm doing; farming, fighting, exploring, etc, but my commonly used accessories are definitely the Ankh Shield, Frostspark Boots and Fishron Wings. :) Ah, I do mainly use that mage build against the destroyer, though I occasionally switch up the weapons if I'm fighting an x-moon event of some kind.
TerrariamcSwaggins: Sounds like a pretty good setup you have there! Anyways, that's a wrap. Thank you for your time!
The Pathogen: Haha, thanks! Glad I could participate. ^_^
For this week, we'll be starting a brand new series; A complete showcasing of all of Brutallama's sprites! Welcome to the first part. :)
All credit for the sprites go to Brutallama.
This week's theme will be armor/vanity sets! Enjoy! (Starting small for this series; the really good stuff is coming soon.)
Story of the Week
This week's story was created by Qui Devorat! Enjoy!
Here is this week's story!
Origins: Chapter Two
After a long night's sleep, I decided to make a trip to the city to grab some supplies, having run low on them a few days before and spending the time afterwards surviving on scraps. As I trudged out of the door and started across the path to the city, I began to notice that nearby people began to avoid me, going out of their way to on some occasions. One even jumped into a stream. The possible threat of piranhas seemed to him less a threat than me. I snickered to myself, amused by the spectacle. But now was not the time for this. There was something else I needed to do up the town. "I think it's time for some private detective work to start myself off before to moving to higher grounds." I murmured underneath my breath.
I pass the gate, the guards there fidgeting in my presence and casting at me a wary gaze, unsure of my intentions. I ignore them. No more distractions I could afford. I trudge across the market to the town hall, looking for a case to start off from, a few people glare at me as I pass, but I think nothing of it. I calmly walked up the steps leading to the door of the town hall, reached for the handle, and opened.
Suddenly I find an entire armory's worth of weaponry pointed at me, ready to shred me at the bark of an order. The mayor was an utterly terrified middle-aged man staring at me, his eyes struggling to remain focused. He was speechless, but I could see from his eyes that something was agitating him. His brow was starting to become drenched in sweat, and he weakly collapsed onto his desk, as if something was making him sick. I, slightly worried, quietly muttered: "If I take a look at your notice board, I won't come back." The mayor reluctantly nodded and ordered his guards to stand down. I glowered at them until they put away their weapons and wandered off. That problem taken care of, I turn my attention to the notice board, and scanned it for a problem that could be solved by my demonic gifts.
My eyes crossed the various notices, now bored due to the lack of anything interesting, quickly juddering to a halt at one particular case.
last seen near the desert
Reward: 15 platinum coins
I scratch the side of my head and nodded, eager to put a little more money into my pocket. I ripped the poster off the wall and turned to the mayor, who was still slumped on his desk. "This man still missing?" I inquire as I shove the poster in his face, "Y-y-yes." He stuttered, forcing himself not to vomit. "He was off to the jungle last time his friends and family saw him , he hasn't been heard from again." That was everything I needed from the man, so I started towards the door. "Let's see if I can find a mister Crowe." I whispered to myself as I set off back out into the sunshine. But as I strolled through the market back to the gate, I became aware of something.......
I was being followed
I began to have a nasty little hunch that someone was watching me from above, monitoring my very movement, that began as soon as I left town hall. The hair on the back on my neck stood out. I knew that the cretin was toying with me by now. Pushing their luck. They somehow knew I was capable of vaguely sensing them and kept their movements to the shadows and simple baiting tactics. Annoyed, I tried to take my mind off the creepy fool and focus on finding Crowe. "That reward money is as good as mine." I thought as I calmly slipped out with the crowd, which seemed to work as the hairs on the back of my neck slowly began to settle down. "Next stop, sand, sand and more sand." I mused quietly as I set off down the road that crossed through the desert.
