Starbound Wiki

Hi Math. I recently started looking around for a Starbound wiki to edit. I ended up at "Hero's Starbound Wiki". Needless to say I am really disappointed where hero is taking this wiki, and in my opinion the Starbound community needs a successful Starbound Wikia. I took this opertunity to found starboundgame.wikia.com in the hopes to acomplish that. I was wondering if you'd be at all interested in becoming an administrator and helping out when you can? I'm positive If we get a strong foundation started before the beta is released we can become a prominent Starbound Wiki on the net. Let me know your thoughts! Thanks!

- Hey Dak, unfortunately, I'm very busy with work and don't have much time to devote to other projects. It also seems very unlikely that I will play Starbound in the near future.
- However, if you could use some general wiki help that's not related to Starbound-specific content — for example, help with template design, site-wide CSS styling, JavaScript features, or just someone to talk to and bounce ideas off of, I'd be happy to be a temporary helper in a non-admin role, as time allows. Just let me know if there's anything I can do for you!

Small Request Edit
Hey math! It looks like the Starbound Wiki is going to be moderately successful. I am having a small issue with my Template:MainpageHeading. I want to set it up just like ours here, of course with a different BG image. For me the custom BG is not taking effect. At first I thought it was a caching problem but its been almost a full day and it still hasn't taken effect. I have the following code on my Common.css:

.MainpageHeading {
background:url("http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/starboundgame/images/a/a8/HeaderBG.PNG") !important;
It's also worth noting that the template works correctly on monobook.

- According to Help:JavaScript and CSS Cheatsheet, the Monobook skin automatically includes MediaWiki:Common.css, but the Oasis skin does not. So, in order to get Common.css to work in Oasis, you have to manually import it.
- To do that, simply add the following code to the top of your MediaWiki:Wikia.css page:
/** * Importing MediaWiki:Common.css */ @import url("/load.php?mode=articles&only=styles&articles=MediaWiki:Common.css");
- On a related note, there is a small syntax error in your MediaWiki:Common.css. Particularly, the part that you copy/pasted above, notice that there is a missing closing brace } . Make sure to add that closing brace so that it looks like this:
/* Mainpage heading styling */ .MainpageHeading { background:url("http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/starboundgame/images/a/a8/HeaderBG.PNG") !important; }

"Bad header to a read buffer overflow" ??? Edit

The user mentioned above has been making several severely disruptive edits across the wiki. He also created a couple of files for this purpose.

VandalsEdit
Hello,
This user has repeatedly vandalized the Excalibur and Night's Edge pages. They also made some edits to the Ocram page, but those seemed to be in good faith.
Also, this user comes back every so often to add pages to categories they very clearly do not belong in.
