GrassEdit

Grows on top of dirt blocks. Different variants can be found in the Underground Jungle, Corruption, Hallow, or where glowing mushrooms grow (Blue Grass). Note that Underground Jungle and Glowing Mushroom Grass only grow on mud. If the player has a Staff of Regrowth, they can plant normal grass on dirt blocks without seeds.

Tall GrassEdit

Grows on top of grass blocks. Can be harvested for Seeds when the Blowpipe is in the inventory.

FlowersEdit

Grow on top of grass blocks and clay pots. While on normal grass they can be harvested for seeds just like tall grass. A variant can be found growing in the Underground Jungle, and it can be harvested for a Jungle Rose or a Nature's Gift.

VinesEdit

Grow below grass blocks, usually on the ceilings of caves. They block light and can be cut with any weapon. Vines can also be found within the Underground Jungle and on Floating Islands. They can have a maximum height of 10 blocks (20 feet).

Vines can be made to grow if Water is partially placed in a block also being occupied by grass growing on the underside of a Dirt block.

Corrupt ThornsEdit

Grow on Corruption grass blocks in a mazelike pattern. They do 10 damage to the player (without armor), but will not impede the player's movement. They have a maximum height of 6 blocks (12 feet). It should also be noted that Corrupt Thorns have the ability to spread the Corruption when they come into contact with grass. Walking through Corrupt Thorns will destroy them, but this is not recommended. It is better to slash through them using a tool or weapon that arcs around the player (such as a pickaxe, axe, or sword).

Jungle ThornsEdit

Similar to Corrupted Thorns. These grow in Underground Jungle. They inflict 26 damage to the player (without armor). They can have a maximum height of 6 blocks (12 feet).

MushroomsEdit

Grow on top of grass tiles. They can be used to heal 15 HP, and they are also an ingredient in crafting Lesser Healing Potions, and to make Bowl of Soup

Glowing MushroomsEdit

Grow on top of mushroom grass blocks in the rocky underground levels. Can be harvested with any weapon or tool like a common Mushroom. These mushrooms heal 25 HP (50 HP prior to 1.0.6) and are used to craft Healing Potions and Mana Potions.

Vile MushroomsEdit

Grow on top of grass in the Corruption; can be used to make Vile Powder.

Jungle FlowersEdit

Yellow-greenish, spherical plants that grow in the Underground Jungle. Jungle Flowers provide weak light that helps in navigating the Underground Jungle. Bright Weeds drop Jungle Spores.
